Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as Special Education Aide in the Pacoima, CA area. This role offers a chance to contribute positively to the education of students with special needs. Aptus will provide the tools, technology, and support necessary for your success and growth.

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Location: Pacoima, CA 91331

Schedule: Part Time (Monday - Friday)

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 60 college units or an AA/AS degree preferred
• Coursework at an accredited institution of higher education in child development, education and/or psychology is highly desirable
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Reliable transportation

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to students with diverse learning needs, including academic assistance and/or physical support as required.
• Monitor and verify the completion of homework and any missing assignments.
• Assist students in understanding and managing their emotions, implementing behavior plans, and ensuring they remain engaged in learning activities.
• Maintain a proactive and confident approach when addressing student needs and challenges.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students during classroom activities and transitions.
• Communicate effectively with teachers and other staff to coordinate support for students.
• Foster a gentle and supportive environment for students to encourage positive behavior.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date records of student progress and academic performance.
• Attend meetings and training, as scheduled
• Performs related tasks as required.
