Position Summary

The Provato Group is looking for a Sr. Web Developer, with at least five years of proven professional experience in WordPress Design and Development, to join our team in a full-time role.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Provato design team to implement and develop key areas of our brand site as well as our clients’ websites
  • Incorporate various functionalities and features into websites
  • Work closely with the Provato Marketing team and internal stakeholders to take their ideas and turn them into functional web assets
  • Respond to support requests from clients and internal stakeholders
  • Perform routine security checks and audits on internal and client websites

Skills and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years in a professional website design and development role leveraging WordPress, with the ability to show past work examples
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of content management systems, specifically WordPress, the Gutenberg Block Editor, Advanced Custom Fields, and maintaining sites without the use of ‘page builders’
  • Experience working with WordPress APIs, including the REST API, WP_Query, and custom endpoints. Proficient in integrating third-party APIs with WordPress, handling authentication methods (e.g., OAuth, JWT), and debugging API-related issues
  • Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS, SAAS (SCSS syntax), jQuery, PHP, and JavaScript
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
  • Up-to-date experience with international web protocols, standards, and technologies
  • Creative and open to new ideas
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to hit deadlines, often self-imposed
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices, including on-page optimization, schema markup, and implementing SEO-friendly URL structures. Knowledge of WordPress SEO plugins such as Yoast SEO or Rank Math is a plus
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices is a plus
  • Familiarity with NPM packages such as GULP is a plus
  • Sitefinity Experience or other CMS experience a plus
  • .NET Development Experience a plus

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, IT, or equivalent experience.

Experience: Minimum (5) years of prior related experience
