Job Description

Al Capone (a subsidiary of the BS-Group) is represented in the US market through ICC (Inter-Continental Cigar Corp.) and part of the global BS Tobacco Group with presence in European, Asian and North American markets. Over the past 20+ years ICC has developed the Al Ca-pone brand to become the best selling Hand Rolled, Premium Cigarillo in the USA’s OTP(Other Tobacco Products) category. The product currently enjoys a loyal consumer base and distribution across major regional markets in specialty and mass market retail channels.

The Sales Area Manager is responsible for the further development and extension of sales in his/her area according to the company strategy of adherence to corporate policy. The incumbent is responsible for the budget and results - achieving sales targets. Candidate must live in or near Sumter, SC and be familiar with regions within the state.

Performance Measurements

  • Meet area objectives in areas of sales, merchandising and administration.

  • Distribution, Point of Sale visibility and opening new retail accounts

Responsibilities:

  • - Retail Calls in assigned area

- Sales Presentations

- Overcoming objections

- Call Check

  • Consistently monitor/track results, identify risks & propose corrective actions, identify upsides & propose ideas to capitalize on those opportunities
  • Distributor call responsibility within region, develop partnerships and maintain relationships with top distributors in region
  • Manage operating expenses, trade shows, standard display budget for the area, and report results to National Sales Manager on a weekly basis
  • Surface volume building opportunities in are markets/retailer
  • Observe and communicate market conditions to include; regulations, competition, distributors and AC performance
  • Act as conduit for all programs and information developed at retail outlet.
  • Ensure understanding and completion of all required activities
  • Perform special projects as assigned by the NSM

Requirements and Characteristics:

  • Extensive sales skills
  • 2-5 years of experience in Tobacco sales in CPG business in the US (Majority of that in the tobacco industry preferred but not required)
  • Working experience in one of the big multinational companies as well as in a middle / smaller company, preferably family managed
  • Has successfully developed / extended sales for a FMCG company in the independent retail channel (convenience stores, liquor, tobacco shops)
  • Deep knowledge and experience in developing and implementing sales and new products into the independent retail trade
  • Proven, quantifiable success in driving business growth
  • Distributor/Wholesale experience
  • Passionate, with strong consumer orientation
  • Strong overall business acumen

Base Salary Range: $60,000 (plus quarterly bonus - $16k bonus guaranteed first 12 months)

The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of ICC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include quarterly bonus. In addition, ICC provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
