Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer and direct calls to the appropriate department, staff member, or location.
  • Provide directory listings and assist with long-distance calling rates and system usage.
  • Page doctors and staff members, provide support during off-hours using on-call rosters.
  • Dispatch emergency teams in response to medical alerts and critical incidents.
  • Maintain and update paging directory databases, reports, and reference materials.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts and assist with training colleagues.
  • Perform system diagnostics, searches, and process internal forms.
  • Ensure the safety of operations by adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in a call center or customer service environment.
  • Strong telephone etiquette, clear communication skills, and proficiency in reading, writing, and spelling.
  • Ability to handle high call volumes and multitask efficiently.
  • Ability to interface with high-level professionals and remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of operating telecommunications equipment and keyboarding skills (40-50 words per minute).
  • Experience with MAC or DOS systems and familiarity with automated paging systems.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and be flexible with shift schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain on duty at the console for extended periods (up to 3 hours at a time).
  • Regular standing, walking, sitting, and use of a computer and telephone.

Working Conditions:

  • May require overtime, weekend shifts, or unscheduled shifts.
  • Must maintain means of contact during off-hours.
  • The position requires on-site work, and shifts are available between 5 AM to 11:30 PM.

This is a full-time, on-site position with scheduled shifts, with training provided during the first 3-6 weeks.
