Job Description

Maintenance Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Management
  • Oversee and lead the maintenance team, which includes maintenance leads, engineering technicians.
  • Develop and implement maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluation for the maintenance staff.
  • Ensure effective communication between maintenance and other departments.

2. Equipment Maintenance

  • Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor the condition of equipment and implement predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Oversee the repair, troubleshooting, and replacement of machinery and components.
  • Ensure that maintenance tasks are performed efficiently and cost-effectively

3. Health, safety, and compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures for maintenance activities.
  • Maintain documentations for audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.

4. Resource Management

  • Manage the maintenance budget, including costs for labor, materials, and spare parts.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and venders for the procurement of pasts and services.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts and ensure availability when needed.
  • Optimize resources allocation to balance operational needs and cost efficiency.

5. Facility Management

  • Oversee the maintenance of building, utilities, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of systems like HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Monitor energy efficiency and implement measures to reduce waste.

6. Planning and improvement

  • Develop and implement a long-term maintenance strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Analyze maintenance data and generate reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies to enhance maintenance operations.

7. Emergency response

  • Lead and coordinate emergency maintenance and repairs during equipment failures or unexpected incidents.
  • Develop contingency plans for critical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure availability of on-call support for urgent issues.

Education/ Certifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering is preferred but not required

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years in supervising / managing a maintenance team
  • 10 years of Maintenance experience is required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office
  • Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products and process
  • Self-motivated, results orientated and excellent personal skills
  • Strong knowledge in Maintenance and Reliability
  • Strong knowledge/ experience managing maintenance through CMMS.
