Job Description

Veleta Capital is seeking a highly skilled Fund Accounting & Finance Associate with expertise in real estate fund accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A) , and fund administration. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of real estate investment structures, financial reporting, investor relations, and treasury operations related to private real estate credit funds. This role requires a blend of technical accounting proficiency, financial modeling expertise, and a strong ability to work across departments to optimize fund operations and performance.

Fund Accounting & Administration

• Oversee all aspects of fund accounting, including NAV calculations, capital allocations, investor distributions, and carried interest waterfall modeling across multiple fund structures.
• Manage the relationship with third-party fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors to ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial statements, investor reports, and compliance filings.
• Coordinate the execution of capital calls, distributions, and fund-level cash flow forecasting.
• Maintain detailed oversight of capital accounts, equity roll-forwards, and investor-specific allocations across complex fund structures, including SMAs and joint ventures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Performance Reporting

• Develop and maintain financial models to assess fund performance, investment-level returns, and capital deployment strategies.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts at both the fund and corporate levels, ensuring accurate projections of revenue, expenses, and liquidity.
• Provide financial analysis on fund-level metrics, including IRR, MOIC, fund-level leverage, and expense ratios.
• Partner with senior leadership on fund structuring, portfolio analytics, and financial strategy.

Investor & Lender Reporting

• Prepare investor reporting packages, including quarterly financials, capital statements, and performance summaries for institutional LPs and joint venture partners.
• Support warehouse and credit facility reporting, including covenant compliance, borrowing base tracking, and lender deliverables.
• Develop internal dashboards and reporting tools to enhance financial transparency and decision-making.

Treasury, Cash Management & Compliance

• Oversee fund and investment-level cash management, including optimizing cash positioning across accounts, managing liquidity buffers, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of transactions.
• Assist with tax structuring considerations, working with external tax advisors to optimize fund-level tax efficiency and compliance.
• Monitor regulatory reporting requirements related to fund structures, investor commitments, and financial disclosures.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in real estate fund accounting, fund administration, and FP&A, with exposure to real estate debt investments, SMAs, and joint ventures.
• Strong knowledge of real estate investment structures, fund waterfalls, capital call mechanics, and financial reporting.
• Experience working with third-party fund administrators, audit firms, and tax advisors.
• Familiarity with debt structures, credit facilities, loan servicing, and warehouse financing arrangements.
• Proficiency in GAAP and IFRS accounting principles as they apply to private investment funds and real estate entities.
• Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills, with the ability to develop complex fund performance models.
• Experience with fund accounting software such as Investran, eFront, Yardi, or similar platforms.
• CPA, CFA, or CAIA certification preferred but not required.
